At home with Maja Roos – on design, life in Spain & the new collection
We step into the home of a family — and a brand. Our designer and founder, Maja, is currently living in an apartment in Spain. We meet her in her home office, where she designs and creates her collections.
Hi Maja! How are you?
I’m good, thank you! We’ve released both our drops of my new Spring/Summer collection, which always feels like a relief. It’s the busiest right before everything falls into place. I’ve now started working on the collection for next summer, as well as the upcoming fall season.
What made you move to Spain?
We had lived in our house in Stockholm for 12 years, and once our two oldest daughters moved out, it started to feel too big. When my husband got the opportunity to work in Gibraltar, we decided to pack up our lives and make the move. That was three years ago now, and we really love living in Spain. Of course, there are both pros and cons, but it’s been exciting to try something new. And since I can work from anywhere, it works very well for me.
When you started designing the Spring/Summer collection, where did you begin?
I always start with research on Pinterest to gather inspiration, and then I try to create a clear thread throughout the collection. For this season, I wanted to balance softer, more understated prints with a few that really stand out — like Erin in Reviere or the Candyland print.
I’ve also created some beautiful everyday silk pants that I practically live in. A new addition this season is our jackets — I love the idea of a “third piece” to complete a look. The whole collection is designed to be mixed and matched freely.
What is something you’re looking forward to right now?
I’ve recently signed with a store at Arlanda Airport that has my Spring/Summer 2026 collection . I’m really excited to explore that market, especially since it attracts so many international customers.
Why silk?
We’ve developed our own silk blend — 30% silk and 70% viscose. Because of this mix, the garments are easier to care for — you can simply wash them at 30 degrees with a gentle detergent. That’s important to me, because it helps extend the life of each piece. Silk is such a magical natural material. When I started the brand several years ago, my focus was always on fabric, quality, and fit. It took time to get everything right, but now I truly feel like we’re there.
